Beartooth (AF005) - The only access to Beartooth is by 56th Ave and it is gated. Access into Beartooth through the Ralston Reservoir property is blocked by a gate that isn’t working. Large homes on large lots. Mix of construction types, but most of the older homes have at least partial wood siding with an asphalt shingle roof. Some of the newer homes have sprinkler systems. Many homes with flammable decks, railings or other projections. Some wood fences. Some of these homes also have individual cisterns for fire suppression. There is no other water for fire suppression other than dip operations from nearby Ralston Reservoir. Water would be primarily provided by water tenders. Most of these homes have long dirt driveways with no pullouts or adequate turnarounds for large apparatus. There is a uranium mine in this area that still is in production sporadically. Overhead power lines. Complex topography, steeper than most of the Pine Ridge Road area. Homes built mid-slope. Primary fuels are grass/shrub with scattered groupings of pines and deciduous trees.
